i.active Saylor's is a proprietary, patented photocatalytic cement that has self-cleaning and de-polluting properties when utilized in concrete.
Any product containing a cementitious material could be manufactured with i.active Saylor's. The most cost effective use of i.active Saylor's is in dual-stage concrete production, such as precast panels or concrete pavers. Other uses include: Precast and architectural precast panels, Cast-in-place - pavements, road surfacing, sidewalks, and other types of concrete. Manufactured concrete products - interlocking concrete pavers, concrete masonry units, roof tiles, architectural products, and cement based tiles. Cement based restoration products.
Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles
1. A 2007 Product Data Sheet for TX Active® Photocatalytic Cements, including Tx Arca and Tx Aria, states under Section 4 Product Composition: "In the United States, Gray or White Portland Cement Type I, II, and III complying with ASTM C 150 with the addition of nano-sized particles of titanium dioxide (TiO2) specifically engineered for use in the manufacture of concrete and concrete products."
2. More recent Product Data Sheets from 2008 and July, 2013 describe the inclusion of "proprietary particles of titanium dioxide (TiO2)" but do not mention nanoparticles. It is unclear whether this information was designated as proprietary or if the the product formulation changed with the i.active Saylor's apparent rebranding of this product.
