Protecting against engineered nanomaterial exposures: Considerations for PPE selection

Posted On: 2023-12-01

Occupational exposures to engineered nanomaterials should be minimized to levels that are as low as reasonably practicable. For most processes and job tasks, airborne exposure to engineered nanomaterials can be controlled through a variety of techniques such as source enclosure and a well-designed local exhaust ventilation system equipped with a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter. However, selection of appropriate PPE is increasingly important in the workplace. This PPE may include body protection, respiratory protection, eye protection, and gloves.
