Fluowet® ETC 300
Category: Coatings - glass/ceramic
Description:

Clariant offers a range of easy-to-clean (ETC) coatings for the protection of glass, ceramic and metal surfaces. Fluowet ETC 300 is a concentrated liquid which needs to be diluted with de-mineralized water. The diluted solution is spray coated onto the respective surface and heat cured at 240°C for 1 hour to yield a long lasting ETC coating.

Typical Use:

ceramics/enamel

Apparent use of Nanotechnology: fluoropolymer modified nanoparticles in solution, formation of nano-scaled polysiloxane particles
Reason for Inclusion:

"Clariant offers a range of easy-to-clean (ETC) coatings for the protection of glass, ceramic and metal surfaces.  All products are based on fluoropolymer modified nanoparticles in solution and can be applied to the substrate surface by spray application or wiping… Inorganic-organic hybrid nano-composite materials with unique properties can be prepared by the sol-gel-technology.  A schematic illustration of the process is given in picture 1.  The hydrolysis of organically modified silanes leads to the formation of nano-scaled polysiloxane particles."
