Clariant offers a range of easy-to-clean (ETC) coatings for the protection of glass, ceramic and metal surfaces. Fluowet ETC 400 is a 2 component system. The 2 liquids need to be mixed before the spray coating onto the respective metal surface is performed. After a heat curing at 120°C for 1 hour a long lasting ETC coating is obtained.

"Clariant offers a range of easy-to-clean (ETC) coatings for the protection of glass, ceramic and metal surfaces.  All products are based on fluoropolymer modified nanoparticles in solution and can be applied to the substrate surface by spray application or wiping… Inorganic-organic hybrid nano-composite materials with unique properties can be prepared by the sol-gel-technology.  A schematic illustration of the process is given in picture 1.  The hydrolysis of organically modified silanes leads to the formation of nano-scaled polysiloxane particles."
