LiteWire
Category: Miscellaneous
Description:

LiteWire is a carbon nano-tube conductor in wire form. LiteWire is a direct replacement for copper wire. It also replaces any other metallic conductor used today.

Typical Use:

LiteWire is produced in filaments and then processed to form any standard wire size. LiteWire can be delivered in any AWG standard sizing and processed in the same equipment as copper wire. LiteWire can be used as the main conductor and as shielding in a cable application. LiteWire is delivered on standard spools or to your requirements. CurTran will be offering specialty wire that is optimized for specific applications. These applications are for aerospace vehicles, utility power transmission, military applications, motor windings, and communication cables. LiteWire is the ideal conductor for Power Transmission and Distribution. LiteWire can be utilized in transformers, capacitors, filters, switchgears, circuit breakers and surge arresters.

Apparent use of Nanotechnology: Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs)
Reason for Inclusion:

"LiteWire is a carbon nano-tube conductor in wire form." (see product link)

"As conductors are becoming larger, the skin effect limits the size and capabilities of the conductor and its insulation. LiteWire is not susceptible to the skin effect, as current its transferred down the length of each nanotube. With billions of nanotubes in each cross section of HV cable, electricity flows evenly across the entire cross section of the LiteWire conductor."
