MMFX2 Steel
Category: Metal
Description:

Scientifically engineered to deliver more than a century of useful service life, our uncoated concrete reinforcing rebar products have become the preferred choice for project owners and engineers seeking to lower overall life cycle service costs. Independent scientific tests have shown MMFX2 rebar to be five times more corrosion-resistant than and up to two times as strong as conventional steel.

Typical Use:

Available as rebar, coil, and smooth rounds. Applications include bridges and highway systems, high-rise buildings and numerous commercial/industrial applications.

Apparent use of Nanotechnology: nanoscale lath structure resembling plywood, untransformed nano sheets of austenite
Reason for Inclusion:

"Steel made using MMFX nanotechnology does not form these microgalvanic cells. In fact, MMFX2 steel products have a completely different structure at the nano or atomic scale (a lath structure resembling 'plywood'). This 'plywood' effect lends amazing strength, ductility, toughness and corrosion resistance."

Also see image depicting "untransformed nano sheets of austenite" that appear smaller in one dimension than the ~0.1 micron scale bar shown.
