Exvila
Category: Additives for concrete/cement
Description:

Exilva is a new and innovative performance enhancer for cementitious systems, where maintaining a homogeneous material mix and preventing segregation are critical performance parameters. Exilva is particularly suitable when a non-sticky cementitious system is required for improved ease of application and it can reduce pressure on concrete formworks, as well as improving levels of spray rebound from concrete and mortar.

Typical Use:
Self-compacting concrete
Underwater concrete
Sprayed concrete
Sprayed micro-concrete and mortar
Oil well cementing
Bore piled concrete
Grouting
Mass concrete
Non-sticky overhead (repair) mortar
Cement skim coat
Self-leveling underlayment
Compacting aid for vibrated precast concrete

Apparent use of Nanotechnology: Microfibrillated cellulose (MFC)
Reason for Inclusion:

"Exilva is a completely natural and infinitely sustainable cellulose-based performance enhancer that improves rheology and stability in cementitious systems, as well as increasing your formulation efficiency, reducing your CO2 footprint and creating exciting opportunities for innovation."

"Cellulose fibres are built up of fibril bundles, which consist of smaller elements called microfibrils. Through a fibrillation process, the cellulose fibres are converted into a three dimensional network of microfibrils with an ultra-high surface area. These microfibrils are called Microfibrillar / Microfibrillated Cellulose (MFC)."
