Anti-Scratch Coating For Polymers
Category: Coatings - multi-surface
Description:
Our coating technology utilizes nanoscale effects to chemically attach a ceramic or other layer to a polymer substrate, thus achieving the desired optical and tribological capabilities such as anti-scratch capabilities.

Typical Use:

On polymeric surfaces.

Apparent use of Nanotechnology: zirconia nanoparticles
Reason for Inclusion:

"In the lab, we attached zirconia nanoparticles to poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). Basically, the nanoparticles were chemically “grown” on top of the polymeric surface, creating a “ceramic” surface with a much higher wear resistance." -Retrieved 9/17/2021 from https://www.cg2nanocoatings.com/antiscratch.shtml
